First Visit Checklist: What to Expect at #1 West Park Dental

We want your first experience with us to be as smooth as a stroll through Willow Glen. Whether you are bringing your child for their first checkup or you’re here for a cosmetic consultation, use this checklist to prepare.

1. Before You Arrive

  • Confirm Your Appointment: You will receive a text!

  • Complete Your Digital Forms: Save 15 minutes by filling out our patient forms online. You will receive a text before your visit! This is especially helpful for parents—no more juggling clipboards and toddlers in the waiting room!

  • Verify Your Insurance: Have your PPO insurance card ready. We’ll help you maximize your benefits for treatments like implants or preventative cleanings.

2. For the Kids (First Dental Visit)

  • The "Positive Talk": Tell your child they are going to see a "tooth friend" who will count their teeth and take pictures of their smile. Avoid using words like "shot" or "pain."

  • Favorite Comfort Item: Feel free to bring their favorite stuffed animal or blanket to keep them company in the dental chair.

  • Timing is Key: Schedule your child's visit after a nap and a light meal to ensure they are at their happiest.

3. For the Adults (Implants & Cosmetic Consults)

  • The "Smile Wishlist": Think about what you’d like to change. Is it the color? A missing tooth? A gap?

  • Medication List: Bring a list of any vitamins or medications you are taking, as these can be important for planning implant surgery or bone grafting.

  • Questions for the Doctor: Write down any questions about recovery times for implants or the longevity of porcelain veneers.

4. What Happens During the Visit?

  1. The Tour: You will see our modern, tech-forward office.

  2. Comprehensive Digital X-rays: We’ll use our low-radiation X-rays advanced imaging to get a full view of your oral health.

  3. One-on-One Consultation: You’ll sit down with our Doctor to discuss your goals—whether that’s a cavity-free checkup for your child or a full smile makeover for yourself.

  4. A Clear Plan: You’ll leave with a transparent treatment plan, including costs and timelines—no surprises.
